Lift the car and remove wheels.
DISK BRAKES
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
|
1. Blocks can be checked through a window in a support (it is specified by an arrow). |
|
2. Measure thickness (A) of frictional slips and if thickness is less specified in subsection 2.1, then replace blocks. |
4. If there are any doubts of rather normal state of slips, then blocks should be removed. |
5. At the same time check a condition of a disk. Measure thickness of a disk and check a condition of a surface. If thickness is less than norm, then replace a disk. Insignificant defects of a surface are removed grinding, replace strongly worn-out disk. |
|
6. Check dribble of liquid from a hose in the specified place (shooter) and tubes of a hydraulic actuator of brakes. Check reliability of an inhaling of connections. Immediately eliminate all found defects. |
|
DRUM BRAKES
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Remove drums (see subsection 8.6). |
2. Check thickness of frictional slips. If their thickness (or distance to heads of rivets) is less than 1,6 mm, or there are traces of oiling or serious damages, then replace blocks. |
3. Check a condition of springs and the regulator of a gap between blocks and drums. |
|
4. Check dribble of liquid from the wheel cylinder, having unbent a dustproof cover. At detection of a leak replace the cylinder. |
5. Check a condition of drums. Polish minor defects a skin, if necessary pierce drums. |
6. Establish all removed details and lower the car. Tighten wheel nuts with the set moment. |
|
CHECK OF THE VACUUM AMPLIFIER
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. On the idle engine press several times a brake pedal, the brake pedal course at the same time should not change. |
2. Press a pedal and start the engine, all the time. After launch of the engine the pedal has to be displaced a little forward. |
3. Press a pedal of a brake and stop the engine. Within about 30 seconds, the pedal has to keep the situation. |
4. Again start the engine, 1 min. later stop and press several times a pedal. The pedal course with each pressing has to decrease. |
5. If operation of the vacuum amplifier differs from described above, then the vacuum amplifier in this case is subject to replacement (see subsection 8.13). |
|
CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Transfer the transmission lever to neutral situation. Having made moderate effort for the lever of the emergency brake, count the number of clicks of a full speed of the lever. If the number of clicks does not meet standard, then the emergency brake should be adjusted. |
2. Check operation of the emergency brake, having installed the car on a steep slope. The order of adjustment is described in subsection 8.11. |
