Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The quantity of belts of the drive depends on a car complete set. Belts have wedge-shaped section and are used for the drive of the generator, the power steering, the pump of cooling liquid and the conditioner. One belt as a rule is used for the drive of several units.
2. Open a cowl and check fingers a condition of belts from two parties, overwinding belts (see rice. Characteristic types of wear of wedge-shaped belts).
3. Check a belt tension in deflection size in the middle between pulleys. If distance between centers of pulleys of 180-300 mm the deflection has to be 6,5 mm, and at distance between centers of 300-400 mm the deflection has to be 13 mm (1 – a ruler, 2 – whetstone, 3 – a deflection) for wedge-shaped belts and 6,5 mm for belts with a corrugated profile (see rice. Characteristic types of wear of belts with a corrugated profile).

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The belt is regulated by two bolts – adjusting (In) and axial (And) which it is necessary to weaken and displace a roller or a pulley of a mobile part. After adjustment check a belt tension, if necessary again weaken bolts and adjust a tension. Upon termination of adjustment tighten bolts, without making big effort.
2. On cars of early releases the adjusting bolt is absent and a roller (or a pulley) are displaced by the auxiliary lever (mount).

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For replacement of a belt perform the same preliminary procedures, as for adjustment then take off a belt. All belts are recommended to be changed at the same time.
2. Before removal designate each belt and the corresponding pulley.
3. At acquisition compare a new belt with replaced.
4. Adjust a belt tension.
