GENERAL INFORMATION

Check of a side play of a wheel

The side play of a wheel is defined by distance between points of increase of resistance in both directions.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check a side play on a rim of a steering wheel for what expose wheels in the provision of driving on a straight line and turn a wheel in both parties to feeling of resistance. The raised side play indicates wear of details of steering (cardan hinges of a wheel, the bearing of a rotary fist (on cars 4WD), tips of drafts, the steering mechanism).
2. Points out strong swing of a body when driving on potholes wear of details of a suspension bracket and steering, hard rotation of a wheel, a strong inclination of the car when passing turns.
3. Check shock-absorbers, having shaken and having released the car. Fluctuations of a body after an otpuskaniye are not allowed.
4. Lift a forward part of the car and establish on supports.
5. Check a condition of tires.

6. Check a condition of the cardan hinge of a steering shaft. Examine rubber plugs and protective covers of spherical support of a suspension bracket, covers of tips of a steering rack, the sector of the steering mechanism and half shafts, check existence on them of cracks, wear and anguishes, emergence of lubricant. Ask the assistant to rotate a wheel and watch operation of the steering mechanism, check existence of a side play in connections, zadevaniye for body details.
	7. Shake a wheel in the vertical plane, having taken by the top and lower edges. Hardly notable movement of a wheel is allowed, the noticeable side play indicates weakening of a tightness in bearings of naves and need of their lubricant and adjustment.
8. Check a condition of a rotary fist for what shake it mount from below up. The noticeable side play is not allowed. Otherwise sort and replace lubricant in bearings.
9. Check wear of cardan hinges in forks and vents.
10. Check existence of dribbles on transmission and the transfer case.
