On cars the system of an automatic unblocking of brakes (ABS - system) intended for increase in stability of the car in the conditions of sharp braking is installed. Pressure in a contour of brakes is regulated depending on the speed of rotation of wheels registered by sensors.

Control unit

It is mounted with on the right mudguard. On the block signals from the switch of a signal of braking and sensors of speed of each wheel on the basis of which pressure in a hydraulic actuator of this wheel is regulated arrive. If the speed of rotation of a wheel differs from basic, then the control unit opens the electromagnetic valve of an aktyuator and liquid under excessive pressure flows down in the tank. Numerous repetition of such cycles stabilizes the speed of rotation of all wheels and increases stability of the car. The control unit also possesses self-diagnostics function.

Aktyuator

Consists of system of the solenoidal valves working from control unit signals.

Sensors of speed of rotation of back wheels

Sensors of induction type, are mounted on each of wheels. Sinusoidal signals from the sensor arrive on the control unit.

Braking signal switch

Provides inclusion of back lamps and gets ready the control unit when braking.

Diagnostics and repair

After launch of the engine the control lamp of the ABS system burns during 3 sec., then dies away. Check the emergency brake, a hydraulic actuator of brakes, sockets of sensors and an aktyuator, conducting of system. If the emergency brake is released, the hydraulic actuator is serviceable, all contacts and sockets of system in the normal state, then the ABS system is faulty and the car should be handed over in car service.
