8.15. Adjustment of a pedal of a brake

GENERAL INFORMATION

Brake pedal height

1. Braking signal switch

2. Pusher

3. Pedal height

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check pedal distance from a floor.
2. In need of adjustment disconnect the socket, turn off a lock-nut and remove the braking signal switch.
3. Release a lock-nut of a pusher of the amplifier of brakes.
4. Rotating a pusher, adjust pedal height. Tighten a lock-nut.
5. Install the switch of a signal of braking and adjust. For this purpose turn off the top nut so that the plunger of the switch adjoined to the pedal limiter. Wrap the top nut on 1 turn and check a gap And. If necessary establish a standard gap and tighten a lock-nut. Attach the socket.
6. Check fire of lamps of a signal of braking.
7. Check a free wheeling of a pedal (1 – a pusher, 2 – a free wheeling of a pedal), i.e. distance from the provision of completely released pedal to the place in which resistance to its course begins to be felt. If the course does not meet standard, then repeat adjustment of the switch.
8. Check height (a) of the pressed pedal on the working engine.
9. If height of the pressed pedal does not meet standard, then brakes are faulty (there is a leak).
