1. Disconnect the battery from weight. |
2. Remove the lever. |
3. On rear wheel drive cars remove a N2 engine guard. On cars 4WD remove both guards. |
4. Disconnect a cardan shaft. |
5. Remove a forward exhaust pipe. |

6. Disconnect a cable or the socket of a speedometer (a photo at the left). Disconnect the backing switch socket (a photo on the right). |

7. Disconnect oxygen sensor wires, for this purpose turn off a plait arm bolt, disconnect other wires on a check point case. A part of plaits is connected by the sockets strengthened in the top part of transmission.

8. These plaits it is necessary to disunite and take aside. |
9. On cars 4WD disconnect sockets from the transfer case. |
10. Disconnect the working cylinder of coupling. |

11. Turn off coupling case bolts (are shown by shooters). The coupling case on the Toyota 4 Runner/Hilux/Surf car from the W59 check point fastens 4 bolts and 2 nuts (2WD and 4WD), at the R150 (F) check point – 4 bolts. |
12. Prop up the check point the cart – a jack. |
13. Establish a jack under the engine pallet. |
14. Remove a back cross-piece, having turned off 4 through bolts and 4 nuts. |
15. Remove check point case support. |
16. Remove a starter. |

17. Turn off 6 bolts at the R150 (F) check point (the drawing at the left) or 3 bolts at the W59 check point, the fixing check points to the engine (the drawing on the right, except bolts of a starter (1)). |
18. Make sure that all necessary wires are disconnected, and displace the check point back so that the main shaft of the check point left coupling or a case of coupling. On cars 2WD it is required to turn the check point on 90 ° clockwise, again to displace back, to lower the check point and to get from under the car. On cars 4WD displace the check point with the transfer case down and back. |
19. On cars 4WD remove a support and the transfer case from the check point. |
20. Examine coupling details. |
