5.3.3. Check of the regulator of pressure of fuel

GENERAL INFORMATION

Regulator arrangement on 4-cylinder engines

1. Regulator

2. Vacuum hose

3. Return hose

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect and muffle a vacuum hose of the regulator of pressure of fuel. Connect the manual vacuum pump to the regulator. Start the engine and consider the indication of pressure of fuel without depression on the regulator. Create depression in the regulator and again consider fuel pressure. With growth of depression on the regulator pressure of fuel has to decrease. Compare pressure to standard.
2. Attach a vacuum hose to the regulator and check fuel pressure idling. Compare pressure to standard. Disconnect a hose and again consider pressure, – as soon as the hose is disconnected pressure has to increase jump up to the top standard limit. If fuel pressure idling at the disconnected hose too high, then measure by the vacuum gage depression size on a vacuum hose. If the vacuum gage shows nothing, then check tightness of a hose, the soaking-up collector and leveling camera.
3. If the fuel pressure lowered, then reliably press the return fuel pipe and consider indications of pressure of fuel. If pressure does not increase, then the fuel pump is faulty, or the highway of supply of fuel is littered. If pressure sharply increased, then replace pressure regulator.
4. If fuel pressure too high, then execute a system decompression, disconnect the return fuel pipe and blow. If the fuel pipe is not littered, then pressure regulator.
5. If the behavior of pressure differs from described in point 2, then replace the regulator of pressure.
6. Execute a decompression and remove the manometer.
7. Wrap the fuel distributor union, previously having replaced laying.
8. Wipe the spilled gasoline. Start the engine and check existence of a leak of gasoline.
